>Walz said the Republican Party under McCain, the 2008 Republican presidential nominee, “wouldn’t put up with” Trump’s treatment of veterans.
>He also knocked new reporting that Trump gave COVID-19 tests to Russian President Vladimir Putin during the pandemic.
>”Our strength lies in our commitments to our allies, and this idea of putting down or demonizing someone who served, someone who was a prisoner of war, someone who earned our highest awards. That’s not who we are,” Walz said. “I guarantee you, the party of John McCain, Ronald Reagan and Dwight Eisenhower wouldn’t put up with it either.”

They also wouldn’t put up with lying about the results of an election and pushing your Vice President to refuse certification of fair elections. Actually, most of the time if that happens in another nation, violence breaks out, and we were honestly lucky January 6th was the worst of it.

I mean, they absolutely would have. They just had the good sense to keep *quiet* about it. I don’t buy the fantasy that they’re selling that republicans were ever the good guys on any topic in my lifetime.

The Republicans have been on a constant downward spiral for decades and now they are all under Trumps thumb.

When McCain died most of the GOP literally bent down to kiss the heel of Trump’s shoes before McCain was in the ground. Just look at Lindsey Graham, who claimed to have been McCain’s friend only to cozy up to the guy who mocked him and his service, while still claiming he was a loser. The GOP have no loyalty except to themselves and will betray each other for just a bit of power and or wealth.

I cannot think of any two members of the Republican Party that are as opposed in their perception of the military as Trump and McCain were.

Yeah but it ain’t McCain’s GOP.
Never before has the GOP been so un-conservative, un-Christian, un-ethical and un-American.
This is a party that has two main pillars: Hate, and grift.

John McCain voted with Trump for as long as he survived into his term except for pretty much that one time, and Trump had plenty to say about veterans during that era including about McCain personally.
But alrighty, coddle the suburbanites and tell them what they want to hear. Just win.

Absolutely true to an overwhelming extent, and an example of the sickening normalization of bad behavior and lacking character he’s rendered onto things.
Harris and Walz are doing a fantastic job of reminding America who we want to be. It’s working – look at the shift in republicans away from him that is already being captured in the polls.
Keep up the great work. We’re not going back, we’re moving forward.

McCain’s GOP would never accept Trump’s disrespect for veterans.

Of course they don’t, It’s like what Kamala said: They rather ride on problems than solving it.

McCain’s GOP sat back and let the Tea Party run rampant. McCain’s GOP led to the Russian-controlled opposition party we have now. He tried to right some of this at the end but many at the upper echelons of the GOP saw this coming and looked the other way for momentary power gains. Now we all suffer the consequences of their inaction.

Except when they did when he was still alive.
