The culture ministry and the Korea Craft and Design Foundation will hold the annual Hanbok Culture Week starting Monday, aimed at promoting the culture of Korea’s traditional attire of hanbok.
Various events, including exhibits and fashion shows, will take place in Seoul’s Jongno District and other areas through October 20, marking the festival’s seventh year.
The Seoul Museum of Craft Art will open an exhibit to display different materials used to make the traditional clothing, as well as visual contents showing the manufacturing process.
Hanbok worn during various events in one’s lifetime, including a baby’s first birthday and traditional wedding ceremony, will be on display at the former presidential complex of Cheong Wa Dae.
Six people in the hanbok industry will be honored with commendations and award certificates from the culture minister for their contributions toward the culture of hanbok.
