Time for the sixth indictment! (Fifth if you don’t count Smith’s revised indictment)

As much as I’d love it to be but under the Logan Act nobody has ever been convicted in 225 years. It would never pass constitutional muster in this day and age anyhow, which is why folks don’t ever get charted under it.

  3. Putin said he didn’t speak with Trump, but then threw him under the bus regarding sending Covid test kits to Russia.

  4. He claimed he called Netanyahu about the Gaza hostages.

Netanyahu definitely met with him at Mar Lago.

The Saudis definitely have been to his New Jersey estate to do “business” and we know (because it was recorded) that Trump had secret documents there. We know they awarded Jared a deal that makes only Jared and Ivanka money.

    Several recent meetings – https://www.cnn.com/2024/04/24/politics/trump-meets-with-foreign-leaders/index.html

  5. I think Trump will die and the stories about the corruption in his admin will slowly trickle out for decades

  6. The Logan Act states:

    >Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

What a strange way to spell “treasonous”. I know it’s hyperbole, but wtf, what is the line for republicans to just stop and say, “ok, enough of this shit. I’m out!”?

If they were gonna get Trump for violating the Logan Act it would depend on showing that he either negotiated on behalf of the U.S. or tried to influence a foreign government’s actions against U.S. policy. AFAIK, public records usually show Trump’s interactions after leaving office as more like friendly conversations or advice-giving rather than formal negotiations.

If Trump were to be accused of violating the Logan Act by talking to foreign leaders like Putin, it would likely be a tough case to make in court. The Act is pretty vague, there’s no real history of it being used, and it’s not clear what exactly counts as “negotiation” and what’s protected political speech or informal diplomacy.

  9. It’s Donald Trump and Russian stuff, there is no other way to say it other than it’s illegal. But then again, the FBI has the tapes and has had them for a while, so I’m sure those charges are coming down any second now.

Another opportunity for Merrick Garland to demonstrate how limp his tenure over the DoJ is.

Can Biden use his Executive Immunity to put an end to this traitorous behavior please🙏. Trump
    Is risking our national security

  12. Garland doesn’t have the guts to do a damn thing about it either! It’s insane that Trump is allowed to violate the law so much!
