I really do not like Hinton. I don’t love Sam either, but Hinton went from visionary to old man yelling at the clouds.
The thing about intelligence is that it suddenly becomes outside the scope of math and computer science and enters the world of psychology. Typically those who approach their life mainly from a logical standpoint aren’t exactly the authority on emotional intelligence.
He’s just Oppenheimer hoping he didn’t provide the idea that ends the human race. That’s some kind of guilt most people probably can’t understand.
