Good let’s start removing human errors in judgement from sports. We’ve seen with more than enough evidence that officials will rarely if ever overrule themselves or other officials even when blatantly wrong.

Why can’t that be serious? The article itself says “quicker and more accurate line calling plus far fewer contentious calls”. Seems like these calls are more fair than the alternative.

  3. Good! Been a ballboy for 15 years (don’t worry about it) and line judges have maybe the most useless job in all of sports. Onto the future.

  4. it’s funny how they knock players for uniforms and colors for traditional reasons. but hey let’s remove a tradition for tech?

  5. I can’t believe that there are people who would even be upset by this. Fair calling of competitive sports!? It’s aggregious! How dare you! Haha.

Obviously getting the calls right is priority #1 but it will still be weird to not have humans there calling the shots.

I assume the new system has an audible call of “out”, correct?

Why do we need line judges when we already have automated systems that make more accurate calls than human judges.

Doesn’t matter if there’s been line judges for 1470 years, the sport should adopt changes that improve the integrity and reliability of sporting judgements and not hold onto something worse purely because of tradition.

Was a matter of time but i guess Wimbledon being the traditional tour – maybe they should have kept the tradition. Esp since players are still made to wear white
