Why do all of these articles describe AI energy use based on how many queries one inputs? To my understanding the vast majority of the energy use comes from training the ai. So describing energy use in ‘per-query’ terms seems misleading

  2. The data center isn’t consuming the water, it’s heating the water. There’s no reason that water can’t then flow to a farm or to a house where it can actually be consumed.

  3. These “consumes x amount of water” metrics are bullshit. Does it use “x” amount of water? Yes, but it doesn’t destroy the water. Total clickbait headline.
