Yep and nothing will be done about it. I dunno why we plebs even pretend to play the game anymore

Another good reason to eliminate Local Government. What’s local Government do that State can’t?
Argue about what colour the Recycle bin should be?
Charge more on rates each year?
    Ignore pot holes?
Get new Estates streets swept 3 times a fortnight & let old well established neighbourhoods grow weeds out of the dirt left in the concrete gutters?

Doesn’t surprise me – the above article -, sadly.

We have 2 bent blokes running for election in my shire. I’m not in either of their wards.

One, who is running for election, has brown nosed his way through this insular shire, knowing that you are generally not accepted if you’re not a “local”, but sucking up and making grand gestures to make yourself look good, apparently, helps. He has pushed away and slandered anyone who has called him out or doesn’t him look good. Pretty much a narcissist, like a lot of politicians. His wife mentioned that they can’t wait for him to be mayor so they ‘can get lots of money’. They feel it’s little effort and you get paid – like many politicians. He also thinks that family violence and r4p3 are funny, having made many dark comments about victim-survivors. Scum.

The other has accepted money under the counter (bribes) and is currently a councillor.

We’ve already had a caretaker local government after ours got sacked pre – C0V1D. I think we’ll be headed there again, soon.

It’s amusing how these people holding pretty much an honorary title act like they’re in a TV show. Mehajer comes to mind – at least he did some jail time

  5. Councils and their elections in this country are one of the biggest rorts there are.

At our last election I didn’t know who any of the people running were and there was nothing available anywhere to tell me what they stood for or what their policies were. Just the usual billboards with their mugs on them for a couple of weeks and done.
