ok yikes! think of the damage that could cause! how do we use our current state of the art technology and understanding of orbital mechanics and rocketry and all that to ensure that under NO circumstances does this asteroid miss us

There’s also a very tiny chance of the Earth hitting the sun, any given day.
Of course it would require the earth suddenly accelerate directly toward the sun, or visa versa, but it’s still a chance
