There has been a scandal in Berlin. Some far right party dude has an onion farm…and political prisoners are harvesting on the farm…
To what extent is forced labor a thing? Who is forced when? What for?
Forced labor in Belarus? German politicians onion farm.

_Of course_ it’s a guy from AfD lol
Answering your question, yes, prisoners work while they are in prison. Jobs include things like sewing, constructing furniture, pretty much any unqualified labour. Pay is awful, refusal to work will get you into big trouble, work conditions are also concerning from human rights perspective
Here’s a link to a DW article (not sure if there is English or German version of this particular one): https://amp.dw.com/ru/eto-rabstvo-pravozasitniki-o-trude-zaklucennyh-v-belarusi/a-69117244
Yeah. We have forced labour.
Hostages work with lumber and make Euro pallets and disassemble tires and old cables and who knows what else.
That incident surprised me. I thought it was forbidden to use political prisoners for community service because the ability to get out of the cell and touch some grass is seen as an indulgence. Even if it wasn’t forced, I think people would rarely refuse that sort of opportunity. Guess it’s different outside Minsk, huh.
Fuck afd!
Guy who worships Hitler is against forced labour?
