Somehow the USB standards naming scheme is worse than Microsoft and Google’s. That’s a significantly major achievement than 80 Gbps transfer speeds.

At what point will the power delivery on a USB cable be restricted by the tiny diameter of the individual wires in the cable?
240w seems a lot for a very thin cable.

The naming of these standards is absolutely and utterly ridiculous and insanely confusing. Can we please just simplify and standardize it…

What… What happened to normal USB 4?
Did I miss that?
But cmon, USB 4 2.0 – who comes up with these names?!

There needs to be a universal marking standard for these cables.
The problem we’re running into now is different brands sell USBC cables but they’re all different levels of functionality.
It’s just as confusing as when every phone had their own unique charging port. The EU needs to insist on a clear labeling standard so consumers know what they’re buying.

They need to stop it with this naming rubbish.
USB 4 should be one particular cable. You want your cable to be USB 4.0? Them it has to meet all the specs. I’m sick of some cables working and some not with no visible marking or difference.

But what about Thunderbolt?

This USB4 cable looks like it is of the USB-C type.
It should be called USB C4.

This shit will never end, even if there was. A consensus on one standard some dick is gonna come out with something “better”. Can there really be an end to this shit already?

USB 4 2.0? So you mean USB 5?

Is USB4 even out and widely used? I’ve been looking everywhere for a hub and an expansion card with no luck 🙁

I wonder what the theoretical maximum wattage is.
At 240 watts, USB-C can deliver 10% of the standard US receptacle (20 amp times 120 volts). It would be neat if the future USB standard, probably with a modified connector for safety, can carry the full power load.

Ok guys, I have a groundbreaking idea: why don’t we make one unified cable that works for everything? Charging, monitors, data transfer, etc. Perhaps we can come up with one universal way to do all of this. I even came up with a name for this. Unified Serial Bus. Do you think I should patent it?

What a great name
The USB naming madness continues unabated.
