  1. I wouldn’t write it off as nonsense but also the security services clearly aren’t that ineffective if they were aware of it and were following the meetings and movements.

    It also seems whoever it was didn’t have access to any confidential information nor to the organisations he was claiming to be able to set up contacts with.

    They’re obviously trying to influence anything where they can though and that’s going on everywhere.

    Whatever they were up to at the embassy, it’s bizarrely large – even more weird given how small our trade and need for diplomatic links are.

    It’s also quite obvious they haven’t been very successful in disrupting relations between Ireland and the UK or the EU.
