Ireland being overly dramatic about what was actually requested in order to simp for Israel’s enemies is 100% on brand.
Outside the ARW, their military is almost entirely performative.

20 years of failing to enforce 1701 but allowing Hezbollah to shell Israel we refuse to move now so that Israel can defend itself.
That’s insane

I’m sorry, UNIFIL is defending something? This is beyond pathetic…

Outrageous that the peace keeps have been so useless.

Article 1701 which UN peacekeepers are there under the condition that Israel leave Lebanon and the UN peacekeepers and Lebanon military are the only armed forces south of the Litani River.
Israel did leave Lebanon. Hezbolah didn’t leave.

Peacekeepers????
Where are these peacekeepers as Hezbollah fires 11,000 missles and rockets into Israel?
If all you do is hang around as one side shoots at the other, and then refuse to get out of the way as the other side starts shooting back, you aren’t a peacekeeper….

Those peacekeepers failed their mission in every possible way, and now Ireland decided to leave them there, risking their lives, just to annoy Israel

“Tánaiste and Minister for Defence Micheál Martin said the safety of Irish troops remained the highest priority” … _butttt_ you need to hold your positions that are within 2k of Hezbollah. There’s a reason we placed you two within a 2 minute walk of each other.

How are they threatening peacekeepers when they specifically asked them to leave the area?
Shachar2like on
>the IDF “made a request through different channels to have some Unifil troops move from areas of military activity for their own protection and safety.
>“Let it be clear that the safety of peacekeeping forces is of immense importance to Israel. To attempt to characterise this as a threat to Unifil forces is another unfounded and inflammatory accusation levelled at Israel, as we have seen in the past months.”
>The embassy said “it should be remembered that for almost a year, the people of northern Israel have been under relentless bombardment by Hizbullah, forcing entire communities to flee their homes, a grim reality no other country would have suffered for so long. Israel has a duty and an obligation to protect its citizens and will act accordingly.”
When this explanation is pushed to the Middle or Bottom of the article, that’s when you know the article’s biased.

I’d say it’s outrageous there are people calling themselves “peacekeepers” on the Lebanon-Israel border, considering the last year.

Higgins, for the last 20 years your “peace keepers” did nothing but turn a blind eye as Hizbollah armed themselves to the teeth in violation of UN 1701.
They were utterly useless.
Israel is trying to keep the useless UN people safe.
You should thank Israel, Higgins.

It seems the ‘peacekeepers’ were not able to stop Hezbollah acting Israel with rockets and other.lomg range weapons, while they insist to prevent Israel from stopping the attacks. Moreover, the peacekeepers have failed to enforce UN Resolution which calls for a demilitarised zone in southern Lebanon, something Hezbollah has long ignored.

They aren’t peace keepers though, they’ve allowed Hezbollah to target Israel with impunity, they are more like war keepers. That UN mission is a total failure and it’s costing tax payers millions.

Israel is one of, if not the only country to publicly tell the populace where their military will be or where they will strike. All other times throughout history civilians have been simply a casualty of war. But still the media tries their damnedest to make them vicious, horrible, unfeeling monsters. It’s sickening.

It’s actually crazy the extent to which its gone in Ireland.
We have the least news avenues, least intelligence sources, furthest removed geographically and politically, least insight, and yet swathes of the population are completely consumed by absolute vitriol and blind biases.
Yesterday in Dublin Hamas and Hezbollah flags were flown openly in public while people chanted “Bomb Tel Aviv to the Ground” and “Burn the Settlers”. We have elected politicians denying Israel’s right to exist on national TV, without any pushback. Irish Jews are being regularly targeted with abuse and antisemitism. Our politicians and media are too pathetic to pushback or call out that violence shouldn’t be met with more hate, so the wave of hate continues.
Protests that were once proclaimed to be for peace have lost the veneer of such, they’re just hate marches.
Israel didn’t threaten any UN personnel. It’s just a fake headline like so many others. UN were asked to evacuate their positions because an attack will come and they could get hurt. If that happened the same folks will be happy to scream that Israel hurt UN personnel.
