  1. >According to the proposed law, all government representatives would be prohibited from engaging with UNRWA. This means that the foreign and interior ministries would not be able to issue entry visas for UNRWA staff and customs officials won’t process goods imported by the agency. Tax benefits granted to the organization would be revoked.
    >The Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee is now discussing the proposed law and representatives from the National Security Council (NSC) have requested that the details be classified. Some Knesset members, however, oppose the proposed bill.
    >The bill stipulates that ties with UNRWA will officially cease starting on Monday, and the agency will lose its diplomatic status and immunity, which it has enjoyed since 1967. Another clause in the bill specifies that UNRWA employees involved in Hamas’ October 7 attack won’t enjoy diplomatic immunity under Israeli law, meaning they could be prosecuted for their crimes.

Update: The bill passed the committee, it will now be brought to several rounds of votes in the plenum.

  2. UNRWA is Hamas, they’re one and the same. They should be disbanded by the UN and Israel should have expelled them months ago.

He said in an interview he was fully aware of the tunnel inside Gazas while also not even acknowledging what Iran / Hezb / Hamas are been doing against Israel for the past year. Honestly I have no idea what the UN stands for anymore, nor I will care much. The hypocrisy and two-standards hits too hard for us Israeli to care. I think thats the same sentiment most of my group has.

  4. UNRWA = hamas

    hamas = UNRWA

Since October 7 2023 I’ve gone from a very liberal, progressive, staunch supporter of the UN to a very liberal, progressive that no longer cares at all about the UN. If they care about how they are perceived by me then a first step would be to end UNRWA.

    >UNRWA is in danger

There appears to be a typo. Statement should read: “UNRWA is a danger.”

  6. **In his letter to Netanyahu, Guterres wrote, “It’s deeply concerning that legislation is being considered in a member state of the United Nations that would fundamentally contradict the principles of the UN Charter.” **

Someone should remind him that a full member of the UN, Iran in case he forgot, openly advocates and acts towards the destruction of another full member…

You mean a Hamas affiliated branch? Created for money and aid reception thta they used on themselves, and brainwashing Palestinian kids?

  8. There is the “mission” of UNRWA and there is the organisation of UNRWA.

Nobody denies the basic mission of “to carry out […] direct relief and works programmes” for Palestine refugees.

The only problem is the organisation that is UNRWA today. There are probably good people there who has nothing to do with Hamas. But they have been compromised and the trust is lost and it is not something that some kind of reform is going to solve.

There’s probably politics behind this since no SecGen would like to admit any of their institutions are compromised and needs to be closed down, reformed into another organisation..

  9. “It’s deeply concerning that legislation is being considered in a member state of the United Nations that would fundamentally contradict the principles of the UN Charter.” So Guterres essentially says UN’s principle is to supports an organization that’s proven to back terrorists?

  10. Wait the UN helped Hamas through UNRWA.. and the UN failed to oversee the disarmament of Hezbollah to a point where 200 rockets are fired at civilians from launch sites in walking distance of UN troops.. and suddenly Israel doesn’t want to deal with people that lowkey accept the extermination of all jews?

    Wow. Very surprising.

I wish UN would unfuck themselves right away. Appeasing islamists for votes and contribution money isn’t what the UN should stand for.

If there are nations in the 21st century that still run on racism and religion, just block them off the server and tell them to update their damn brains.

The UN’s only purpose is to give tyrants, dictators and terrorists a voice on the world stage. The UN most certainly does not have the best interest of Israel at heart… ever. I’m surprised they don’t just leave the UN entirely.

  12. UN agency covers up Hamas terrorists while UN head conducts secret negotions with Russia on how to lift their sanctions for invasion to Ukraine. Is this really what UN was created for?

It is the side gig of Hamas members, of course it is in danger. Next time maybe check who they hire.

  14. “UNRWA employees involved in Hamas’ October 7 attack won’t enjoy diplomatic immunity under Israeli law, meaning they could be prosecuted for their crimes.”

Sounds about right. Why would Israel give terrorists immunity?

“UN chief in letter to Netanyahu: UNRWA is in danger”

Nope. The terrorists in UNRWA are in danger.

Maybe some additional funding and they can double their internal investigation efforts and possibly get some better disguises for their field operators. The glasses/mustache things aren’t fooling anyone.
