Worst thing about all of this is that the Horizon scandal itself probably would not have happened if they’d dealt with this one properly. Also makes you wonder how much erroneous data started with Capture, and was fed to Fujitsu by the Post Office without bothering to verify it… and why the courts were accepting computer evidence as gospel truth even in the mid 1990s, when such practices in businesses were still often very primitive at best.
