Well you can always search for the meaning if the 한글 is vague. Also some Koreans do learn hanja, so it’s not completely pointless.
There are many words that are written the same, but the meaning is different. For example 단지 can be a jar, pot, a housing complex or “just” or “simply”. So additional hanja explanation us helpful.

Older generation, people who practice law or med etc should be able to read it. It’s just carried over from the old times bcos there’s no reason to remove it.

Most Koreans do understand Hanja. Also that site already adds what the word is and is just showing the Hanja for it so it’s not like it matters whether they could read the characters or not.

I can’t read hanja either but I think it’s helpful when the same word can mean different things depending on the hanja used.
A notable example of this was when ’10연패’ was used to describe South Korea’s streak of gold medals for women’s archery. Some people were confused since 연패 typically means repeated losses but can also mean repeated victories depending on thr hanja used. It’s probably more helpful to have the hanja than not having it.
