  1. It’s a pretty amazing thing, all these volunteers working so hard to provide something that can be very expensive for free

  2. The original parkrun in Bushy Park is my local one. We just did the 1000th a few weeks ago. It was mad and chaotic but awesome. Over 6,400 runners from all over the world. We regularly get “pilgrims” but this was something special.

Useful info for parkrun tourists…Scottish park runs start at 09:30. Possibly because we need the ice to melt, the sun to come up or we are just lazy.

  4. The only trouble with parkrun is the number of people who drive to one and cause parking problems. Even their website features articles asking people to stop parking badly

It’s great, but it’s still bullshit they removed the records from the website. Anyone whose ego is so fragile they can’t handle the thought of someone being faster than them should stay home out of the way and learn some humility.

Plus it was obvious they also did it because of people moaning about trans runners, couldn’t be arsed with the debate so just removed all records. Can’t blame them for that I guess.
