SS: Hashem Safieddine, Hassan Nasrallah’s cousin and the leading candidate for the position of Secretary General of Hezbollah, was targeted in the attack last night in Beirut and was apparently killed.

There also [reports ](https://x.com/hahussain/status/1841972270312653094)that the assassination of Hashem Safieddine was carried out while the Shura Council of Hezbollah was meeting to choose a replacement for Nasrallah

If the report is correct, we are talking about the assassination of a large number of senior Hezbollah officials and this could explain why the IDF spokesman has not issued any comment as of now.

The Saudi [Al-Hadath claims](https://x.com/Doranimated/status/1842332608312791499) that Israel was able to confirm Safieddine’s death, according to their sources.

Israel’s campaign against Hezbollah is goated. They must have been able to deeply infiltrate Hezbollah to get enough intel to decapitate them this swiftly
