    So idealised versions of what, we might feel, we *should* be like don’t make us happy.

    Negatively or positively correlated? I’d be happier feeling like a kid mentally (flexibility, open mindedness, playfulness, rebelliousness) but functioning as an adult, honestly. Getting old sucks.

  3. lol when I was younger I believed adults had their crap together.

    Now that I’m older I realized every adult is still figuring things out and are just winging life.

  4. Probably anything people expect to live up to and then perceive themselves failing at would have the same effect.

  5. Just having the confidence to navigate the world in general can do wonders for your mental health. It’s no surprise that someone who wasn’t taught how survive on their own is going to feel anxious.
