I really think we should do all we can to help those in need but someone needs to explain to me why someone from Darfur makes the effort to come all the way to Ireland while probably passing through multiple safe countries to get here.

We are a horrible nation of people when rubber hits road. Treating these poor people like scum isn’t a good look. What are we doing to properly house them?

The refugee council of Ireland were on the radio out trying to get the IPAS centre moved out to Citiwest, their reasoning was that the state is less likely to leave people living in tents out there than they are in the city. The Asylum lads have a massive number of lobbying groups working for them while the lad on the street doesn’t. I don’t think it’s nationalist of me to say that we should be tending to our own garden first.

It’ll be Christmas, and instead of a count, we’ll just have an oiled up Simon Harris climbing out of a large plastic womb as a messiah. (Said plastic womb project will be under OPW)

Thankfully there’s no crime in Dublin, so it allows the Guards focus their attention on people sleeping rough.
