“Sparking concern among Indians aspiring to move to Canada to study or work”. If you are coming to Canada to study then fuckin study and pay your own way. Jobs are for Canadians not for you to take while you “study” and send back to India.

Looks like a long ass line, but what’s the source for 3000? “megh updates”? Sounds legit. I don’t see more than 50 in the video.

The first candidate that says “mass deportation” will get my vote for the next 8 years

  4. I guess they’re not building Tim Horton’s franchises fast enough if it’s come to this. What an outrage.

  5. I’m Canadian-born of South Asian descent. I dont live in Brampton but have been there many times and agree it resembles India in certain areas more than North America (cant even imagine how much more so now).

My worry is that the mass arrival of Indians in such a short amount of time is going to cause widespread prejudice against all South Asians if it has not happened already. I understand the frustration; I hope people do recognize not all South Asians are looking to exploit Canada’s openess and not all of us are culturally unacclimatized.

To be clear, I fully recognize that most of these recent arrivals never should have been admitted in the first place; most are here to work with the aim of gaining their PR; even if they are here on a “temporary” student visa attending a diploma mill to earn a meaningless designation. It is a backdoor entry to eventual citizenship that never should have been allowed by our government in the first place.

Some of these recent arrivals know exactly what they are doing and will exploit every possible loophole and they need to be called out accordingly. I mostly blame our current federal government though for not only allowing these loopholes to continue but furthermore opening the floodgates to an unsustainable level with absolutely zero regard for the socioeconomic impacts. On that basis, I actually blame the current federal government for much of the anger and frustration towards South Asians.

Our immigration system (primarily based on a points system) has mostly worked well for 40+ years. The current federal government has decided however to upend that general consensus leading to the issues we are seeing now. We are no longer only bringing the best and brightest and our socioeconomic welfare is on the decline as well.
