Israeli airstrikes target Hezbollah militants in Beirut Israeli forces have carried out another attack against Hezbollah militants in Lebanon. They announced on Wednesday that they conducted a “precise” strike in central Beirut.

Israel said it was targeting a building used as a base and a weapons storage facility by Hezbollah. However, Hezbollah claims it was a health center and that the victims included paramedics and rescue workers.

A Hezbollah member of parliament, Amin Sherri, said, “This enemy is showing its true face, its criminal face.”

Lebanese government officials said Israel has carried out 110 airstrikes over the past two days. Israel said Hezbollah has launched 120 projectiles in the past day.

Aid workers said the increase in fighting in recent weeks has doubled the number of people who need shelter.

UNHCR Lebanon Spokesperson Lisa Abou Khaled said, “Even if we had been preparing for such a scenario, the resources that we have are not enough to respond to all the needs and the fast growing needs.”

Lebanese officials said there are now about 1.2 million displaced people across the country, and more than 1,900 people have been killed in the fighting over the past year.
