Baby capybara triplets charm visitors in Fukuoka, western Japan Newborn capybara triplets are captivating visitors at a park in the western Japanese city of Fukuoka.

The capybara babies were about 30 centimeters in size and weighed about 1.5 kilograms each when they were born on September 2 at Uminonakamichi Seaside Park.

The month-old triplets now weigh more than 2 kilograms, and can be seen running after their mother and feeding on grass.

Wild capybaras live near water, so they are good swimmers. But the babies are still practicing.

Their keeper, Irie Hikaru, says the babies have very different characters. There is an active one and a leisurely one.

She says she wants visitors to see the capybaras jumping and zipping around, and she hopes they will grow up to like humans.

The names of the triplets will be decided shortly.
