I wish maps like this would also indicate how much of this land is empty desert which is “controlled” by one party because nobody bothers to challenge it, because why would they?

Why tf do 200 soldiers of a foreign country have all this much land occupied?
Willem_van_Oranje on
‘Syrian Interim Government’? That would be the Turkish occupation, which includes significant ethic cleansing in especially Afrin.
Poop___scoop on
This is missing a pocket of Rojava control near (and formerly including) Afrin
Should’ve also included the sites of natural resources, would make a lot more sense afterwards. But for those wondering, natural gas is on the orange side, and petrol is on the yellow side. It is split between east and west of euphrates.

Israel offered the Golan for peace twice; the last time in 2007-2009 and both offers were refused; syria choosing to remain at war, and thus also de facto renouncing the claim. Whatever Syria pretends, they’ve already forfeited the claim during negociations that otherwise would have led to retrocession: https://amp.theguardian.com/world/2007/jun/08/syria.israel1
Israel’s claim is thus lawful

This map is fake. It indicates that the border crossing with the Golan High (Israeli annexed) is open. Try to cross it and you’ll meet your 72 virgins asap

“partition”, for real? AFAIK the official borders of Syria (aka Syrian Arab Republic) are unchanged, and they encompass all the colors, it’s just a temporary set of occupations brought on by a civil war/foreign meddling/ISIS.
