Hello. Just looking to confirm an ID on this guy. Sorry about photo quality, I didn't want to get close to something venomous.

Assuming red belly black snake. I think it's made a den under the concrete. If it is what I suspect, I'll leave it be so it can keep the browns away.

  1. It is, however, that the myth about red-bellies keeping Eastern Brown snakes away is a lie. I very much doubt that the snake will bother you, but it will annoy rats, mice, and frogs.

  2. Green bellied green and red bellied black.

    Edit: red belly blacks are not confrontational or aggressive like a brown can be, and will rarely bite unless cornered and agitated and there isn’t another option. The greens are the most sedate of all species.
