  1. I dont believe in a god, never have

One thing that i dont understand if a god exists, is why does shit happen in the world to innocent people? Kids dying of cancer for example.

Believers say god loves everyone and when something bad happens its all part of “his plan”. Well if god loves everyone and allowing kids to have cancer is part of his plan, hes a pretty shitty and fucked up guy then.

People pray to go to save someone, forgetting that according to them god created that situation in the first place

    > The research team found that the common notion of the “purposeless unbeliever”, lacking a sense of ultimate meaning in life, objective morality, and strong values is not accurate, challenging the stereotype that atheists lead lives devoid of meaning, morality, and purpose.

If belief in God is the only thing that makes you behave as a moral good person, then you are not a good person.

When can we start taxing the churches / synagogues / mosques. The amount of wealth they’re all hoarding.

  4. And yet more and more politicians coming out with religious stuff or attending US run religious conferences because the lobbying from US evangelicals has become more lucrative

Time to sack the monasteries again, liquidate their obscene wealth, and enact a second reformation that removes any vestige of religious power from government and instruments of state. Why do council meetings start with a Christian prayer?

I think it’s a shame how few young people go to church these days.

It’s a great way to be involved with your local community. Brings people together every week for a period of time with no phones or screens.

My church is very much focused on the good we can all try to do in our community and our lives.

We run a food bank. We run various fundraising drives to support local. Recently we paid to build a sensory room for a local special needs school.

I can list countless examples like this.

I don’t mind if people want to believe in god or don’t. But I think too many people online look down on others for having their faith.

And yet I can’t get my daughter into the really good local primary because she wasn’t baptised.

Erm, good? A made up man/woman/thing in the sky should not be what we define our values by in 2024 and beyond.

  9. I was very little when it came to me that the all loving, caring and omnipotent creator is nothing more than a perverted old geezer who loves torturing its beloved humans. This revelation happened in the middle of bible class, so you can imagine how happy my mum was when she had to find a new school for me.

Atheists are the vegans of theology. Just like vegans can’t help but bring up their plant based diet, atheists can’t resist mentioning their lack of belief in any higher power at every turn. Meanwhile everyone else is like, yeah, whatever 🥱 jog on.

The death of organised religion is the next step towards creating a better world.

60 years ago we left religion behind because we realised it was holding us back as a society.

Now we are importing religion again and telling people they have to be tolerant, accepting and even mindful of the same things we rejected that made the society a place that those who still hold those beliefs, want to come to.

    Insane really
