    This story doesn’t show that crypto can be an alternative use for fiat.

    It’s a cautionary tale that crypto shouldn’t be used for currency

    I exchanged a few chats with this guy and with Satoshi Nakamoto on bitcointalk. Funny enough, I was there only to study how FPGA works and if I could use FPGA to do something more useful than mining Bitcoin. LOL! I remember pushing for the FPGA bitcoin miner dev to release his code out, so that I could learn how hashing could be done on FPGA. After a while, they did release the code and I still focused on FPGA but not Bitcon. LOL!!!! It wasn’t until the end of 2012 that I jumped into Bitcoin. Could you imagine arranging a meeting with some random tourist coming to your country so that you could buy a thousand BTC on the street?
