Nature never ceases to amaze! It’s fascinating how birds adapt to their environment, even using toxic fungi as a defense mechanism. What other surprising strategies have you noticed in the animal kingdom that showcase this kind of ingenuity?

I wonder if any of these birds could eat the fungus and develop an immunity and maybe later on down the path become slightly toxic themselves?
The effects noted are on ants which have an extremely small body, so it is clear it would not have the same effect on birds-
In the present they have no reason to eat the fungus cause their strategy is amazing, so this scenario would be impossible in the context of our world
However this could make a really fun speculative biology concept where there exists a forest of just slightly toxic birds-
