Imagine criticising someone for doing their job instead of storming off in a huff because you think that your personal opinion on a matter trumps everything.

Honestly they hypocrisy from a of people in Ireland and from TDs is mind boggling.
So many people here are screaming about this but are also screaming about the importance of Irish Neutrality.
I think we should sanction Israel, help Ukraine as we are etc but this is NOT neutrality. Ireland’s international position is so stupid at the moment where were don’t walk out or sanction Israel because we are neutral but also are essentially a full ally of Ukraine having spend literal Billions of $ directly or indirectly in aiding them fight Russia.
From the outside we must look bipolar in how we do foreign policy.
Can we just pick a fucking lane and stick in it please!

Ireland isn’t, and hasn’t been neutral since ww2.
They released allied soldiers and detained German ones.

And then why not sanction China for the actual genocide they are committing against the Uyghurs. Because it would be inconvenient for us not be benefit from cheap chinese labour.

Literally just a couple of Arab league nations pulling a stunt. Why would Ireland join it? It wasen’t spontanious. The diplomat at hand wouldnt have the unilateral authority to get up and walk out. Not unless the Taoiseach had told him before hand to do so. It was choreographed, as are all such stunts at the UN by any and all. Its a “serious” place. Diplomats are literally trained not to pull such rubbish…that is unless its literally the message.
Anyone here gullable enough to fall for the stunt and be moved by such an obvious propaganda gimmick has no business having an opinion coz their too gullable. The Irish gov. wouldnt be aware of what terrorist proxy governments of Iran were planning and thus wouldnt have given the guy in the Irish seat authority to walk out.
Already seen the organised twitter campaign of harrassment against the civil servant who was representing Ireland. Stirred but by a griffter whos made a name for himself exploiting Palestinians. Retweeting an obviously malicious call by a minor twitter account to “find” the diplomat. Watched it all unfold right there on yer mans twitter. But like all his race baiting and incitement. He likes to retweet or repost others incitements so as I guess he thinks avoid being directly implicated. But hes a bit of a fool and doesnt seem to know Irish or EU law.
Naturally the grifter didn’t make any effort to moderate the thread that ensued from his witch hunt baiting and didnt delete the thread when followers on his tread started openly doxing the diplomat and others literally calling for him to be hunted down and violence applied to him. Within hours all those accounts along with many others were flooding that diplomats twitter with abuse and condemnation for not taking an action he had zero right or authority to do.
Also stop calling them “opposition TDs” it was 3 TD from opposition parties. Irelands policy is to sit through everyones statements. We never “walk out” as a point of principle. People need to stop throwing tantrums about stuff they know nothing about. This sort of carry on has real MAGA energy about it. This sentiment is akin to the Jan 6th rioters in US complaints that Mike Pence should just ignore governmental proceedures and reappoint Trump because they personally felt he should. Just like Pence had no legal or precident autonomy to ignore the electoral college vote. That Irish civil servant who sat through Netanyahu’ speech had zero legal or consitutional autonomy to do what people are pissed he didnt do.
In short….feckin cop on lads.

The way Ireland is run just makes it a subordinate outpost of a largely US-aligned empire.
We nominally have elections, but they don’t influence any policies of actual consequence.
Our political leaders stopped working _for_ us a long time ago, and work largely in favour of whoever will pay them well after office.
