Isn’t this basically UAC? To prevent people who aren’t savvy from..you know…doing bad stuff?

Can’t Epic just take their shitty, kid extorting games and fuck off to… I dunno… Venus?

Fuck Epic. They wanted me to select “Chinese Taipei” as my country when I tried to sign up.

Not sure why Epic didn’t build their own hardware to control they own destiny or platfrom as standard?

> Today, Epic alleges that promise of safety is entirely bogus: “Auto Blocker conducts no assessment of the safety or security of any specific source or any specific app before blocking an installation,” the legal complaint reads.
> “The thing’s not designed to protect against malware, which would be a completely legitimate purpose,” says Epic CEO Tim Sweeney. “The thing’s designed to prevent competition.”
They are blind if they don’t see how blocking APK installations can protect users. It can be turned off as well. The only thing Samsung could change is making the alert message more comprehensive and explaining that if the app is really a trusted source, you can disable Auto Blocker to install it, and show you how to disable it.
But claiming that it’s not designed to protect against malware is insanity. I have it turned on for all my non tech savvy family members.

Epic Games is like, Why can’t we keep all the money? Why do we have to share profits with a platform that provides millions of users as an install base? It’s just unfair that we sell v-bucks at $1.00 that cost us $0.007 to produce and have to share that.

F*ck Epic. And Google too.

What I hate the most is that Epic does not assume that they fight for the money, they keep the narrative that they are fighting for the gamers. That’s not true, it would be true you would pass the benefit of the gain to the gamers by putting lower prices

Look how different the comments are compared to *Epic v Apple*. Amazing what changing one name can do. This sub is *so coherent and not biased at all* by the device they own (and the related hateboners).

Tim should sue less, and spend more time figuring out how to get people to his store outside of free games
