Is it allowed (and possible) to climb the stone Towers at Praia da Mesquita in Algarve ? I crashed my drone into one so wondering if it can be recovered.

Espero que não, ainda lá bates com os cornos e tem algum bombeiro de ir arriscar a vida para não ficares lá a cheirar mal.

I wouldnt risk it for a drone.

It seems like a bad idea. I think these rocks are limestone and very unstable. Landslides and small collapses happen easily. I don’t think that’s a good idea.

Try to get in touch with Polícia Marítima to find out.

Please spare portuguese tax payers of a rescue operarion with boats and helicopters. It is really getting out of hands the quantity of tourists dying or almost dying in such places.
Check local drone owners for a somewhat heavier drone and fish it out. If in Ukraine they do it in battlefield kms out of sight should be simpler in there.
If not leave it since you will be alive to buy another one.

Someone was rescued a couple months ago, from that rock. I wouldn’t try…

Try to get your drone back using another drone with a rope and hook.

Physically, yes
Morally, yes
Lawfully, yes, I think
Cognitively, no, not worth getting paraplegic

Don’t do that 🙅🏻♂️

Unless you’re a VERY experienced rock climber, I’d say don’t. Those things don’t look so tall, but they are VERY tricky to climb and it’s just too easy to have an accident.
Either chalk this on up as education or, like u/soneca-ii said, try to use another drone to get yours back.

It is legal yes, and probably no one will say anything about it, altough it can be very dangerous to do it if it’s your first time doing.
In the summer, I use to climb them (not this one, neither in Lagoa/Carvoeiro) and jump to the water but I’ve been doing this my whole life and only on rocks that me or someone else knows.
Specifically this one doesn’t seem to have a safe depth in case you need to jump back to the water.
Last thing, it’s “easy” to climb, but really hard to get down, safely.

Get a fishing pole and cast out to the rock. There’s a trick though: instead of a hook, use a drone magnet at the end of the line. Drone magnets are magnets that only attract drones. Good luck

It would cost you less money to get a new drone than it would cost us to pay for your body recovery, so please don’t.

Go at your own risk if require rescue they will charge you money for it it’s dangerous and getting down from it may be impossible if you jump death or serious injury is high probability

Just be aware that to legally fly a drone in Portugal you need to be a licensed pilot, have a registered drone with a visible license “plate” on it.
Furthermore, you need a licence from ANAC (civil aviation) that must be requested (ahead of time) for each take/off session
National parks need additional permits (iCNF or coast guard). As a coastal zone is maritime national park, you need the additional permit from the coast guard. As someone already mentioned above, these are usually not issued to civilians (only commercial applications).
Bear this in mind if you are to reach the authorities or a fellow drone operator…

Starting a drone recovery company with more powerful drones is beginning to sound really appealing
