We need to know what rules we are playing here, let’s avoid the Goodge Street controversy.
It is Sunday after all.

Long had to endure the Euston sprint. Not announcing what platform a train is at until 5 minutes before it leaves.

I didn’t realise the Euston sprint was a thing despite it happening to me more than once 😝

Genuinely appalling. I get that Euston is the oldest station in London and so might not be ideally swt up but Jesus, New street is only marginally newer, has trains coming from more directions and is still able to tell you where youre going more than 20 seconds before the train leaves

Not as bad as the “Euston Sprint” but I’ve been in situations in St Pancras at the East Midlands Railway bit where it’s just a sea of people all bunched up behind the gates waiting to get on 3 different trains all leaving at similar times and the open the gates like 5 minutes before trains are due to leave and there’s only like 10 gates to get everyone through
thankfully the platforms are right behind the gates and you don’t have those awful ramps like in Euston

You know they’re trying to cover something up when the Transport Minister, Lord Peter Hendy, is behaving like a corrupt scumbag and getting engineers fired for stating the obvious about Euston being unsafe.
They need to rebuild it. They have plans to rebuild it as part of HS2. The government is just delaying and delaying and the cost is rising and rising for no good reason.
Not the station as a whole but the bog at Ormskirk is the worst one I’ve ever been in anywhere, railway related or not.

Not sure whether Euston deserves the reputation – compared to residents in other areas who have no station. which are looking to re-engage disused stations which were closed in the 1960’s due to Beeching.

For such a huge central station of the country it sure is a dump. Even Birmingham’s New Street is now better than this

It’s even worse now that the new screens cause everyone to spread out more. There’s no room to walk past the food places or by WHSmith when it’s rush hour.
