If they really wanted to make a statement they could cut their ears off and throw them at the paintings

All this does is break down trust in society.

It’s a civilised thing to be able to go to a gallery and wander around and look at paintings. That freedom requires a level of trust that people won’t abuse those freedoms.

I love the fact that in the UK there are so many old castles and houses that you can wonder around fairly freely, without everything being hidden away behind glass.

What a shame that these bellends would ruin that.

  3. Noticeable that at least in this article the media is focusing on the victim by explaining the art work significance.

In recent times its been quite troubling how they are provided a platform to preach and justify their actions even whiles in the act. I’ve never seen any criminal act given a reward or sympathy. Likewise normal protesters who do the saturday afternoon marches rarely get give such a platform.

  4. Disgusting…..£1.70 for a tin of soup just to waste it doing senseless behaviour, Don’t know what’s Tomato with people these days

  5. Should have got Huw Edwards to do it, he would have got another suspended sentence…….. Seriously tho, in what world do you get prison time for this but not being a nonce ????

  6. Stupid posh cunts who have never faced any adversary have to create their own.
We all know oil is bad, big bad ceo man is bad. It’s pretty obvious

  7. Complete and utter twat-tards. How dare they take the right to take away *our* rights. That work of art is a thing of beauty; why defile it? Perhaps they should throw soup at a reasonable target, like greenwashers who fly all over the world to ‘save the planet’. Hypocrites

  8. Police need to start going after JSO’s funders for aiding and abetting criminal acts. Without money, JSO won’t be able to trick near as many young people into hurting their future prospects.

  9. Performative rebellion. I think climate change is the most important challenge facing humanity, but the idea that this sort of childish action will do a single thing to address the problem is infantile in the extreme.

  10. Hope they get jail time. These climate twats take something we should all support and just piss people off

  11. Were these ones even behind glass? It says they had to be taken away for examination and were found undamaged but I don’t know if that’s just PR speak for “not beyond repair”.
