  1. So, if I understand correctly, this study isn’t telling us anything surprising.

    You can be a mentally healthy and a gun owner at the same time, but if you are (or become) mentally unhealthy you are more likely to use one illegally.

    One has to think, then, that a basic mental health check before a gun license is issued would be an obvious application of this data.

    Didn’t we instinctively know this already …?

  2. So the wording is a little unclear, as they double down on the “use” vs “ownership” in the abstract. Are they saying that people with psychopathic traits aren’t more or less likely to own guns than the general population, but the ones who do are more likely to use them in illegal ways?
