Firefox and UBlock Origin all the way. I couldn’t use YouTube without it and I feel no guilt. There are plenty of other, direct ways to support your favorite content creators.

I watched a video last night and had more ads than a regular TV show would have, and they kept saying “Watch this ad and you’ll be ad free for the rest of your video” and then they’d show me more ads.

Sometimes I pause videos so I can look at a detail closer. Maybe step through framewise using the shortcut keys. This reduces the usefulness of youtube as a whole by interferring with existing features.

I’m definitely already seeing way more ads than even a few weeks ago. One day it was just the same ad over and over again (Microsoft Azure 🙄)

When you watch an hour long podcast, you get hit with ads every 3-5 minutes. And when I want to rewind a funny joke I heard, I get hit with another ad.
Peacock TV hits you with an ad every time you pause.
Laws need to be passed to prevent this.

From what I noticed, there’s less ads when you access YouTube through a web browser. The number of ads when I watch YouTube through the mobile or TV app is insane
