Imo, striking russian early warning ICBM radar station was one of the worst mistakes made by Ukraine military command in the whole war. I think that was the main reason why the US is now extremely reluctant to allow them pick targets deeper in the russian territory.

Big mistake. Now more Ukrainian citizens will die on Biden’s watch.

” US intelligence believes that Vladimir Putin would likely respond to such strikes by ordering attacks on US and European military bases, The New York Times reported. He could also step up sabotage efforts on Western soil.”Â
Whether you agree or not, that’s what the President is making his decision on.

Well, it’s unfortunate but I get it, Putin could do something stupid-er than usual.
But at least Biden approved another 8 billion dollars for the Ukraine, so that’s something, it should help a lot.

What I can appreciate is the Biden administration’s balanced approach to escalation and I realize that they know more than we in the public ever will.
There are so many intel sources, analysts, back channels and what not that this stuff doesn’t happen in a vacuum, which is positive.
I want Russia to lose badly, and for it to happen as fast as possible. But I also hope that cooler heads ensure there is no unnecessary risk of a nuclear exchange in that process.
I mean can you imagine if Ukraine did launch deep strikes into Russia with less ROI than expected and then Russia lobs a tactical nuke at Kyiv?

Let’s not forget the Russians updated their nuclear doctrine a few days ago specifically to address this issue. It seems authorizing these long range weapons into Russia could very realistically lead to either an atmospheric nuclear test as a warning, or their direct use in combat in Ukraine.
