The issue is for the rspca is they are beholden to supermarkets and farmers who refuse for the standard to be strong enough.
The whole point is for customer confidence but it clearly isn’t doing that. More about money.

The RSPCA is a great charity and does good work. It’s appropriate that an animal welfare scheme that has their name in it has really high levels of assurance and monitoring. This includes being more exclusive and selective, and having more assertive sanctions where farms and suppliers are found to contravene standards.
Otherwise – as is happening – the trust in the RSPCA is reduced.

Not entirely relevant to the message but, I’ve met 2/3 of those celebrities and they were just the most obnoxious people. Usually I can separate a person from their art/work, but I can no longer enjoy anything they produce because they were so arrogant.
Personally, I find a vegetarian diet to make no sense (dairy is essentially a byproduct of the meat industry, milk comes from animals having their young taken from them). I tried a vegan diet twice and it made me ill both times even with vitamin b12 injections and a nutritionist’s help (I was extremely ill on my second attempt about 6 months in to a vegan lifestyle). The idea of making meat and dairy as ethical as possible is the best compromise for me, and I support any attempts to do this. I understand if people can’t bring themselves to make that compromise, but rigid all or nothing thinking isn’t appropriate here.
