October surprise a week early. It’s what the Mueller report should have been if political hacks hadn’t interfered with it and if Mueller hadn’t been so deferential to them.

  3. We’re having a special F5 Friday on Thursday this week, I did not expect that move at all. Can’t wait to read what those 180 pages will have.

  4. I’m all foreplayed out. Produce evidence he sold state secrets, like we all know he did, or move on.

  5. Unless there is a voice recording or video of something it won’t matter, even then scotus will just continue protecting him and the media will gloss over anything that could fatally harm thier horserace click bonanza.

  6. This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.salon.com/2024/09/25/the-evidence-will-be-powerful-legal-experts-say-jack-smith-about-to-drop-a-bomb-in-case/) reduced by 85%. (I’m a bot)

    > The Supreme Court ruling threw the prosecution of Trump for his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election into chaos and the new filing is an opportunity for Smith to make the case that Trump's efforts do not qualify as official acts.

    > Attorney Ty Cobb, a former Trump White House lawyer, told Salon that the filing from Smith was appropriate and necessary in light of the recent Supreme Court ruling but he said that the filing likely won't be like special counsel reports.

    > One of the attorneys who represented Trump during the second impeachment trial, David Schoen, indicated that he thinks the move is politically calculated and that "You can be sure the Harris campaign will borrow allegations from the 180-page filing and use it." He added that he sees the filing as violating Justice Department policy of not taking legal action against a candidate within 60 days of an election.

Oh great. This is only the 3567th article saying Trump is for sure cooked. I’ll believe it when it happens. Please go out and vote everyone.

Something worse than rape? Fraud? Inciting a riot at capital? What do they mean by powerful? What could possibly be worse?

  9. >He added that he sees the filing as violating Justice Department policy of not taking legal action against a candidate within 60 days of an election.

Well maybe if y’all hadn’t spent three and a half years *delaying everything*…

  10. We are going to find out why Mark Meadows was never indicted in federal court, namely because he totally gave up everything and it’s going to be in the filing.

We’ve been hearing this for years and the Orange Shit Stain has faced zero consequences. The sad fact is there are 2 justice systems, one for the plebs and one for rich jerk offs

… I wonder if it’s worse than RAPE because half the county doesn’t think that’s a deal breaker.

  13. We should all be preparing our pitch for when this finally sees the light of day:

“If you feel embarrassed or betrayed because of this man’s actions – we will stand with you. If you can’t believe that he would look you in the eye, take your money, and do this to the country that you love – we will stand with you. If you are tired of the lies, and anger, and violence – we will stand with you. You don’t have to agree with us on everything, but we do want your help stopping this man before he breaks even more promises he never intended to keep. We want you to join us.”

We need to make it as appealing and painless as possible for people to change their minds about him. Change – recognizing and processing the pain of having been gaslit for years – is hard enough without feeling additional judgement being heaped upon your head by the people representing the alternative option. It would be foolish to expect a stampede, but every vote taken directly from the other side is worth double points. Encourage change, not shame.

  14. Yeah, Can we please get his tax return like he promised freaking 8 years ago. And who and where is he getting his $$$$ from thank you.

  15. They could drop a 4k video of Trump and Diddy spitroasting a 10-year-old boy, and MAGA would still defend him.

  16. Of course the evidence will be powerful. It always is when the person is guilty as hell and dumb as a bag of hammers.

  17. Jack Smith has been carpet bombing the case with evidence since the start of all of this. How much more needs to be shared into the record before he’s actually held accountable for the bombs that have already been exhibited? Eileen Cannon needs to be removed and another judge who hasn’t been bought and paid for by trump needs to take over and do their job. I don’t care if they’re republican or democratic. I just need them to be impartial, follow the law and rule appropriately. I don’t think that’s too much to ask.

    > “The Mueller report [was] 400 pages of we ‘didn’t find anything,’ this will be 180 pages of evidence and the evidence will be powerful, undeniable and persuasive,” Cobb said.

What utter horseshit, the Mueller report was full of evidence saying “we found a lot”

  19. Here come the gloomers.

    “And nothing will happen”

“Doesn’t matter if he’s not going to face consequences”

“I’m sick of articles like this when nothing ever happens to him”

They are always the first to rush in to the comments.
