She would be better off ordering an investigation into all the donations/bribes she, her prime minister and their colleagues are taking now that they are the ones in power.

No wonder the media are on the attack. There could be some interesting findings from the investigation.

Good… this is something that needs to be properly and fully looked into. knowing who got what for what and who approved it for them is very much needed

This is good.
But will it get lost in all the self inflicted shit about freebies.

Imagine if they’ve been sat around a table, panicking about the unrest that we (the people) and the media have kicked up about expenses. Imagine if someone’s come up with this idea and can implement it without ratcheting up even more crazy costs. Imagine if they actually recover a large chunk of that money.
Do we give them some credit before dragging them back to the expenses scandal? I’d be willing to say yes, if they didn’t take the credit for it themselves (hmm!) and that they didn’t think it would settle the expenses scandal (hmm hmm!)
I won’t hold my breath just yet…

Why only 600m? We all know there’s a lot more than that to investigate.

Dido Hardings app cost 40bn, investigate that paper trail. Not to mention Apple and others offered them to license their apps at a lower cost.

At last. This was announced before the election.
I’ve literally been thinking earlier today it would be a good time to announce this.

Is this so they can figure out how to do it themselves?
After all, their defense when discussing “gifts” has so far been “well the Tories did it”

Alright. Honestly, I hope this is the start. I hope they go through every single suspicious contract and payout with a fine-toothed comb.
Heck maybe even introduce some measures to make it so it can’t happen again, but that one might be a bit optimistic.

I can see money being wasted on investigations, but I will be surprised if we get our money back or anyone is sent down.

All of that money, where did it go? In somebody’s pocket? A friend of a friend?

Great way to distract from the recent focus on their own corruption – call an investigation into what the Tories were up to!

£600m?
Didn’t we misplace over £34bn from PPE and a further £45bn in those business loans to keep SMEs from going under in lockdowns?

But Keir Starmer got free tickets to Arsenal games and Rayner went on holiday for a few days during a parliamentary recess. Much worse.

Don’t forget about the £4 billion in asylum contracts.

This is a dead cat, because nothing will ultimately change, unless labour needs it for political gain.
It’s to distract people from digging deeper into the freebie issues.
