Think about Harris from Trump’s perspective: She’s a loudspeaker, a piece of scenery. She’s not even animate, much less human. No need to look at her. The whole world is Trump and not-Trump, and the not-Trump part is there to manipulate. He thought he was manipulating her, and her answers were just noise. Trump doesn’t “engage” with anyone in the sense that normal people think. Trump “pushes” other people around for his amusement, and if they don’t do exactly what he thinks they might do, it’s just more entertainment for his game. This is what extreme narcissists are LIKE: They are the whole world. Everyone else is there for their amusement. So of course he won the debate — to him, it was like debating a tree or a rock. They couldn’t possibly win, because he was the only person there. The world, the whole universe, is Trump. Everything else in it is whatever Trump’s mind creates for his own amusement. And that’s how Trump thinks. He’s actually not a whole lot smarter than a flatworm. And neither are his followers. But now you understand how Trump thinks he’s holy, how he can tell people he’s the Messiah, how he thinks he’s god’s representative — because the whole damned universe is Trump, and Trump “knows” it.
