Ukraine may be preferable to the horrors that awaited them on the *Kuznetsov*.

They know why entire sections of the ship have been sealed away, and what it would mean for the crew if the things inside ever escaped.

  2. In the old days Putin longs for, sending a naval crew on a fools errand ends in internal regime change.

  3. This should be no problem, in a couple of weeks when they have this aircraft carrier back in action, they can easily man it with crew members off of their many other aircraft carriers.

Russian navy chiefs were probably fed up with the crew constantly setting fire to it.

Anyway, like the navy seamen who were sent to die in Vulhador, these sailors can apply their seamanship skills to the meat wave.

    Well, sailors like waves.

  5. A navy ship crew that never left shore now end up in a ditch with more water than Kuznetsov seen in soon ten years.

  6. Was once in US Navy. If they tried to make soldiers out of us sailors, I think they’d have been sorely disappointed with us! At least in the junior enlisted ranks, where I was most of my enlistment.

  7. The story of the Kuznetsov is like the 1905 Russian Second Pacific Squadron.
Required towboats coming along, because dodgy propulsion.
When in the Mediterranean, NATO fleet staff were actually worried they might see a crap load of Russian sailors sink.
Then it needed to be docked. But it got damaged when the floating dry dock sank in 2018.
Then a new dry dock had to be retrofitted, by now the Kuznetsov is floating again and further refurbished.

  8. I have been waiting for the entire war to see this piece of crap go to the bottom!

Oh – its just the crew, not the rusty embarrasment of the ship itself 🙁

  9. Good for them! ruZZian sailors that sail around the world in big ships have a… bad track record. Shambling in Ukraine as FPV bait might improve their survivability 😉

Hmmmm… using naval personnel from an underperforming high profile capital ship in a desperate ground offensive sounds familiar. Didn’t work out well for the crew of the Yamato on April 7 1945.

  11. But they had to swim there under their own strength. It’s important to have he other half of the he headline. /s

  12. Dear God. I had to re-read the headline. That’s a terrible fate. Damn, you join the Navy and they send you to be next in line for Putin’s meat-grinder. That’s a raw deal right here.

  13. > Additionally, reports indicate that Russia is also forming infantry units from members of its Aerospace Forces, with these new units playing a role in battles around Kursk.

    Desperation is a stinky cologne.

the Ukrainian cannons are thirsty for Orc meat…. follow more cannon fodder!!! Slava Ukraini, Heroyam slava!!!

  15. Best thing ruzzia could do is haul the kuznetsov near Ukraine so that they can torpedo that waste of money to the bottom of the sea lol.
