Absolutely Unbelievable to witness how the whole war went completely different from the the projections made prior to the israeli operation in gaza. “Military experts” didn’t stop speculating about the IDF being expected to suffer 2000+ fatalities (relying on the war in chechniya as an instance of the deadliness characterizing a typical urban warfare), on top of being completely unable to clear the extensive tunnel network in the gaza strip. This all sounded reasonable at the time, as the type of warfare in the gaza strip involves unique challenges, that no military in the human history had a substantial experience dealing with, additionally to an almost complete lack of measures intended for its type. But evidently, There is a huge gap between the projections and the actual subsequent situation – teaching an imporntant lesson that applies to every aspect in the reality – The past, can not necessarily indicate on the possibilities of the future.
