I have been living in Poland for the last four years, and I work for a company here. I came legally, pay my taxes, and fulfill all my civic duties. I’ve never been involved in any conflict, not even over a bus seat or parking spot. I always speak highly of Poland, and I really love it here because I’ve made many friends. I’m also trying to learn Polish. It’s a long process, but I’m doing it out of love for this country.
Recently, I learned that some foreigners attacked Polish citizens, and as a result, some Polish citizens have taken matters into their own hands and started citizen patrols, which I believe is within their rights. The problem, however, is how they identify people. How do they know if someone is Colombian, Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, or Vietnamese? To them, we may all look the same.
I have plans on the weekends and weekdays to go out and live my normal life, but in our groups and at my company, we’ve been advised to be cautious, avoid going into the city, and stay at home. I want to know, is there a solution to this conflict? Is it going to be like this forever?

It is not going to be like this forever.
That crime perpetrated by foreigners in Śrem ( which is the reason for the citizen patrols ) will wash out of the news cycle rather quickly, given that we now have a flood and things will be back to normal until something like this happens again.
In the meantime some foreigners will likely be introducted to the ancient Polish ritual called “wpierdol” on the basis of just being foreign and then the Police will do their best to locate the culprits.
For the record – very few Poles have a problem with Vietnamese people ( we’ve had a well assimilated group of Viets living here since the 1990’s ) and are unlikely to mistake them for other groups you mentioned.
It’s a group of racist and xenophobic extremists. Not much you can do about that. If you feel unsafe I would contact the local police and report it. It’s sad that a person trying to live a normal life is forced into this position. My bet is if you go out and you will be surrounded by other people including native poles, those dirtbags will be too insecure to try to make a scene, but you can never know with this level of delusion.
What you do is you obey the law and you will be just fine.
This is the response to a series of immigrant attacks on Polish people. Fully warranted.
There’s nothing to be worried about.
Quick search shows that if such patrols are organised legally, there is always normal police escorting them.
If they are not legal, police will simply disperse them.
That company of yours is way overreacting. It’s hilarious tbh.
I would avoid that scum.
Me being perfectly Polish wouldn’t come near such group of violent thugs, let alone if I were a foreigner
You are from Vietnam so You should be ok.
I’m not a foreigner and I would avoid that, so I advise the same to you.
If you don’t do anything against the law you shouldn’t bother about this. It’s the criminals and illegal immigrants that we are after.
You should go in and ask if you can join.
Troll them a little
Well, that depends.

Nothing.
It’s just a bunch of dudes going for a walk.
why they ask if someone is vietnamese, vietnamese are based af I would say that they are Asian Poles
It’s just a show of force on their part, to intimidate migrants who they view as a potential danger. I don’t think staying at home is necessary. Just for caution, if you see them keep distance, don’t approach them, avoid confrontation, be a bit more cautious that day and you should be fine.
