The Vatican announces the decision on Medjugorje on Thursday!

Since the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, which is headed by Cardinal Fernandez, recently, i.e. after the adoption of new norms for the recognition of apparitions in May, issued a series of “nihil obstat” for apparitions that occurred around the world, it is expected that Medjugorje could get that highest status.

On Thursday, the Vatican will announce the Church’s official position on the Medjugorje phenomenon. This was announced today on the official Vatican website, where it is stated that on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. a press conference will be held in the hall of St. Pia X on the “spiritual experience of Medjugorje” to be held by the prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández, secretary of the Doctrinal Department of the same Dicastery, Msgr. Armando Matteo and Prefect of the Dicastery for Vatican Communications Andrea Tornielli.

According to many, the Medjugorje phenomenon should receive a “green light” from the highest church level. That is, the status of “nihil obstat” according to the latest Vatican norms for the recognition of apparitions, which determines that “without expressing any certainty about the supernatural authenticity of the phenomenon itself, many signs of the Holy Spirit’s action ‘in the middle’ of a certain spiritual experience are recognized, and there are no aspects that are particularly critical or risky, at least not so far.” Or the next one below it called “prae oculis hábatur”, which says that “although important positive signs are recognized, some aspects of confusion or potential risks are also observed that require the diocesan bishop to engage in careful discernment and dialogue with the recipients of a particular spiritual experience.”
