Japan's defense minister calls North Korea's launch 'unacceptable' Japan’s Defense Minister Kihara Minoru has condemned North Korea’s launch of ballistic missiles on Thursday, saying the act is absolutely unacceptable.

Kihara said the government has lodged a protest against the North.

The minister also said it is a clear violation of UN Security Council resolutions, although the missiles are believed to have come down outside Japan’s Exclusive Economic Zone.

He added that there were no reports of vessels or aircraft having been affected.
