  1. Such a ragebait article, they literally include a quote from the headteacher saying they aren’t stopping kids from going to the toilet, they’ll still let them in, but they are trying to curb vandalism and kids just sitting in there vaping

  2. School administration seems to be where all the control freak weirdo pests end up. Imagine not letting kids go for a wee during lessons. Supposedly it’s “disruptive”.

Not as disruptive as having to clean up the wee when they piss themselves, or the life-long damage to the psyche that causes, or as disruptive as the bladder control issues and UTIs holding it in can cause.

And for all you peons talking about how your boss doesn’t let you go for a piss at work, get a job somewhere that respects you.

  3. It’s a shit situation, but many schools spend THOUSANDS out of their budgets to correct vandalism in the toilets. Beyond money, the toilets then no longer feel safe to use by the 98% of students who aren’t acting like criminals.

I’d put money on these toilets being open during social time and locked during lessons because the doors can be manned and monitored over these windows. Maximum 2 hour wait for the toilet to be freely accessible, so having to jump through some hoops if you want to go between those windows is not unreasonable.

But I’m a teacher who sees the degree of damage and budgetary strain that comes from having an unmonitored room accessible to only teenagers… So maybe I’m biased.

  4. This is neither new or out of the ordinary. Schools are paying thousands in repairs due to vandalism in toilets, as well as having students feeling unsafe in toilet spaces.

  5. What if you are in dire need of a dump then do you do it in the trash bin in class? Who comes up with these insane ideas???

  6. I remember my junior and high school in the 80’s and 90’s, toilets were a bad area to be around, was always kids dealing drugs and other stuffs, gangs used to hang around the entrances, was rough going.

So I’m amazed it’s taken this long for schools to implement these measures.
