Boy just went raiding in the spirit of the vikings. They would be proud.

Hope he challenged them to a dual for it.

Well, I’m not weeping tears of pity for him. He deserves it. But he’ll be spending five times as long behind bars as motorists in my area have recently been given for killing cyclists.

  3. It’s okay for the British museum to continue to hold onto stolen foreign artifacts. Who’s accountable for that then??

Not great from the landowner however if they had an agreement.

  4. I guess he’s hidden the money in some way that means they can’t just cease it, but it seems like there should be more detail in this article 🤷‍♀️

  5. Are we really sure, with the prisons full, that some greedy fuck needs to be behind bars this long?

  6. 13 years for finding some Treasure and not immediately giving it to the crown?

There ya go. That right there is your double standard writ large.

Yes. The archeological importance is not lost on me.

But 13 fucking years? (he’s already serving 8.5 for this and just got handed another 5!!)

Rapists and violent thugs get less!!

  7. Our sentencing guidelines are a fucking joke.

They need a complete overhaul, and anyone who’s ever been involved with the current ones needs to be kept far, far away.

  8. Unfortunately there is definitely a two tier approach to financial theft and fraud.

He’s obviously not an MP, an MPs friend, or a peer or billionaire.

We’ve released violent thugs early so we can free up space for a metal detectorist 🤡

Guy who hit my friend while he was drunk, broke his leg and drove off gets 18 months suspended, this guy gets over a decade for keeping something he found. Pathetic.

  11. Can someone explain this to me? He found a cool sword, then sold it instead of handing it over? What stupid rule is this? If they want it they can find it themselves.

  12. Greedy bastard. Could’ve got half the value of any sale legit no questions asked if he just followed the law and declared it, which he knew.

If he’s still got the stash, 600 grand over 5 years is a nice annual wage.

They need to be giving those pedo’ and rapists these kinds of sentences. The original 8 and half he got was no joke lol.

The Elgin Marbles will be returned when? Or the Koh I Noor Diamond? When a rich person does it, it’s business. If you’re poor, it’s a crime. When can we expect to see the tax received from “king” sausage fingers £750million inheritance? Crickets….

I’m not trying to justify this man’s actions, but the hypocrisy is astounding.

  14. 13.5 years for not sucking the governments cock and giving them money. Finders keepers lmao, this is the exact reason I use cash for absolutely everything. They’re robbing bastards and everyone should commit tax fraud where possible

I’ve just had my DNA results. I’m almost entirely a Viking. I think it might be mine, however I think my ancestors might have nicked it the first place.

  16. If only the man kept his mouth shut about finding that he would be fine, should have melted it down and sold it at weight value

  17. I know it is not relevant to the case but I am curious as to weather or not he put up a fight when he was arrested for these crimes?

  18. Is it an indication of anarcho-tyranny when people like this are in prison and violent criminals are being released?

Yeah but stealing ancient artifacts from other countries and putting in the British Museum for profiting to the city tourism… totally fine.
