We need Biden & Shapiro alongside to push more into these areas.

It’s off topic, I know but it’s baffling how a 200 years old antiquated and originally racist electoral system and therefore only a few states are still dominating campaigning and policies, while the majority of the country already has a clear favourite.
That being said: I hope Harris will succeed in convincing more people to cast their vote.

Wonderful. Hope she does that for Texas.

This is the way….
There are a lot of fed up and disenfranchised Republicans who feel like their voices are not heard because they are in a red county and don’t necessarily have a choice.
The fact that Harris is doing this speaks volumes, not only about her candidacy, but also how she is as a human being, supportive, caring, and most importantly, a President for ALL Americans

Lose, but lose less is the name of the game and a great strategy for rural areas of battleground states

A perfect example of how a national popular vote would expand the focus of candidates across the United States, instead of focusing only on those in a handful of states.

She should go door to door like they did in the olden days. I bet every family she visits would vote for her if she made the effort to knock on the door.

I noticed that here in PA the strong pro-Trump crowd has been trying hard to find the perfect reason to hate Harris. I hear a lot of “Well Trump was bad but Harris has no policies so I don’t know whaaat to doo.” Compared to last elections, they are a bit quieter, they don’t quite know how to attack her and how to defend Trump.
These types will still vote Trump for sure – they are on team red, and that’s literally all that matters to them. But, I am hopeful that since they aren’t as vocal and rampant, they’ll spread the propaganda less and allow more people to see Harris and truth.

If Kamala Harris had been the candidate from the beginning, or at least from earlier this year, she would be doing this in more states. Georgia, Wisconsin, perhaps even Texas.

There’s value in this.
Counties that are majority MAGA are still home to thousands of non-cult members. This gives them hope.
It also can show some of the MAGA people an exit ramp, when they see she’s nothing like the big lies told about her.
Between weakening their resistance and embracing some of the more responsible people, it could empower them to campaign for her and close the state margin which is key.

I think she ought to do this in every swing state honestly. Have your GOTV rallies in the cities, but then go hit up a few diners etc. in the rural areas and at least talk to people whether they ultimately are persuaded or not. ~40% of the people in the rural areas are liberal in the swing states. They need motivation too.

This isn’t without merit: Trump won every single one of the 30 smallest (by population) counties in Pennsylvania in 2020. He won 54 of 67 counties overall. Biden won the other 13 counties. Biden’s margin of victory in those 13 blue counties was about 960,000 net votes.
Those 30 small counties Trump won? They represented just 8% of the total votes cast in Pennsylvania in 2020, but they were soooooo lopsided in Trump’s favor, that they eliminated about 23% of Biden’s margin from the blue counties.
Reducing the red bias in these small population counties is not for nothing. Even though these counties have few voters, they are the kinds of places where word of mouth anecdotes (“I met her at the Legion and she wasn’t that bad”) carry a lot of weight with convincing neighbors. More urban red counties such as York won’t have the same phenomenon, I don’t think.

Does she have any ground game in NC, FL and TX this year?
I really haven’t heard much about ground game in these states or even the more common swing states
I recalll back with Obama there was massive talk of just how many people were knocking on doors
I haven’t heard that in recent years and now

I’ve said it on other threads, but this is the way to win Pennsylvania. She’s not going to win these counties, and she knows it, but if she can get 43% in more rural counties rather than 40%, while still getting large turnout from the Philly and Pittsburgh metro areas, she’ll win pretty easily. It is the same strategy Fetterman had and he won by five points.

Being a vice president. It helps the SS and police will make sure those MAGA lunatics won’t be able to use their coal rolling diesels to sway the bus off the highway. They can campaign comfortably in these deep red areas.

She is trying to end this madness on election night. I think a lot of people have fears of a repeat of 2020. Where due to how some states count their votes, mail in and early voting ballots won’t be counted till election night. This caused election results to show Trump to have a huge lead that then dissipated over time while mail-in ballots continued to be counted. This played straight into the conspiracy theories that the Democrats were creating votes and manipulating the election. Harris is doing everything in her power to make it clear as day she won and chipping away at these areas will help.

Attempting to win an election by persuading voters you have better policies? What a radical concept.
If only it would catch on with the GOP.

Fuck the EC. Such a useless and stupid system. Why isn’t Shapiro pushing for the election compact, where a state’s EC votes go to the winner of the popular vote? Nowa the time to get the Rust Belt states signed on.
