This is correct. Every Spring I buy the tins of meal worms from Petbarn/Reptile stores and make nice. I don’t get swooped, my dogs don’t get swooped, but the neighbour I don’t like still gets swooped. Life is good.

Yes they do, but you don’t need to do anything special. They should be fine in your own yard as long as you’re not throwing stuff at them or chasing them. It’s in public areas they feel threatened by constant new faces.
