“Eight senators and two TDs are registered as members of the group Oireachtas Friends of Israel. It comprises six Fianna Fáil members, three Fine Gael members and one independent.
The Oireachtas Friends of Israel group was inactive from 2016 until 2022 until several politicians, among them junior minister Jennifer Carroll MacNeill, reestablished it. MacNeill says she left the group after being appointed minister of state.”

“In February 2022 the group hosted a talk by former Israel Defence Forces member Yoseph Haddad, who has called on the Israeli government to “break” the civilian population of Gaza and dismissed reports of famine in the region. ”
I wonder will they distance themselves from this terrorist?

I wouldn’t vote for a single one of these TDs solely on this.

>The current members of the Oireachtas group are Fianna Fáil senators Malcolm Byrne, Diarmuid Wilson, Aidan Davitt, Erin McGreehan and Ned O’Sullivan, as well as TD John Lahart. Fine Gael is represented by senators Paddy Burke and Tim Lombard along with TD John Paul Phelan. The sole independent member is senator Gerry Craughwell.

So a list of politicians who are open to influence by extremely well financed US lobby group corruption. Daly and Wallace were a disgrace working for Russia, this is equally as bad

I’ve had an uncomfortable opinion and feeling about this idea that democratically elected officials align themselves with a foreign nation.
We see it in the US through AIPAC and we see it in the UK (Corbyn shitstorm) the influence these groupings have in the political sphere and in internal matters.
Anyone that is critical of the Israeli actions is rounded and hounded on is something I really don’t want to be seeing here in this country.

Fucking disgusting. That is not representative of Ireland. Remember this when the election comes around. We are not FRIENDS OF ISRAEL!

It’s fucking disgraceful that there are so many of them. There is no fucking reason to be a member of a group like that unless you a racist or someone looking to benefit in some way like getting one of their free propaganda tours or other bribes.
Israel has never not been a fascist apartheid regime – its just that the current government is the most racist and fascist one that was ever elected.

How dare these politicians support something l don’t agree with. Why can’t we stop these fascists by imposing punitive laws that infringe solely upon their freedom of political association and motivation?
