Can other jobs require you have a bank account?

Does the civil service technically require a bank account?

I dont see the issue if he makes it clear he is cash only before taking a fare. I know its the rules now, but let the man earn for fucks sake.

    What a clown.

I bet he takes the increased fare amount that was introduced to cover the costs of accepting card payments.

Enough businesses only take card. He should have every right to only take cash.
The difference is the government can’t track your cash.

  5. Lol good way to absolutely become in the spotlight of the tax authorities… Enjoy your audit.

  6. Why? Isn’t it easier for them to just accept card? It’s faster and he doesn’t have to go rooting for your change. I’ll never understand this

Let’s all pile on the taxi driver!

F***k thar guy! Probably spends his millions on all kinds of things we could never afford.

    *I’m being sarcastic.

  8. Got a taxi last week in Dublin, old guy, didn’t have card reader, didn’t tell me when I got into cab either, no cash in Gaf, had to walk to local spar with him creeping behind me on main road traffic to get his money.

I respect his attitude,  banks are parrasites, a person should be able to do their job without them involved.

But lets all assume its just tax evasion and not some outlier standing up against the banks influence on society…

He’s a small business owner who refuses to open a bank account. No sympathy. He must think the world revolves around him.

There’s a million way the law / excess regulation *may* be an issue. This one isn’t one of those…

Declaring some belly button fluff and the odd toffee in earnings to Revenue for four decades, probably.

  13. Huge waste of taxpayers money in court fees and enforcement because some clown claims to have an ideological objection to having a bank account.

    Ask him a simple question:

Sir so you want to get a bank account thus complying with your legal obligations and keep your taxi license.

    Or not?

Please let me know so the court can decide.

Was in this guy’s taxi a few weeks ago. Random from Kent station.

Was shocked how upfront he was about to the cash only – bumper stickers inside and asked me to confirm that it was cash I was paying before moving.

Only reason I had cash because I knew some taxi drivers make as much friction as possible to avoid you using card.

  15. I had a taxi driver stop at the East link bridge, I could take his shite any longer. After picking me up from the airport he moaned abut using a card to pay. When I asked him to use the tunnel, he asked me for cash, then told me he was paying out of his pocket.

I don’t care what they are charging you for using credit cards, I don’t care if you only get the money 7 days later. When I was getting into the taxi, and you asked “do you have cash” and I said no, I can get a different taxi if needed, you should have dropped it there you clown.

Other taxis going around with ‘Cash is king’, it might be convenient for you, but it’s my money you want, and all I’m offering is electronic payment

Look at these comments.. What a bunch of self-righteous little children!!! Cash is legal tender, and if somebody pays or not pays their taxes is none of your business!!
